Waking up to some snow
Marti fed us a giant, delicious breakfast, then the eight of us gathered at 10:00 for a day trip to Sedona. Delays occurred leaving Prescott, and the Goetz gang got separated, meeting up again in Jerome at Arizona Copper Art. The scenic drive on State Route 89A to Jerome is fun but crazy curvy. I was happy motion-sickness-wise to be driving today.

The Sedona area, with its spectacular red-rock buttes and alleged energy vortexes, is VERY popular, so it was good to have Steve there to guide us. Notably, he led us to an awesome overlook, perfect for a group photo. Stunning! It was pretty cold today, but comfortable enough once the sun came out.

Next, Steve led us to a trailhead for a little hiking. Some of the crew was aghast when we drove right past a brewpub without stopping, but to others of us, it made sense to hike first, THEN drink beer. Ignoring any grumbling, we started up the Mescal Trail. The views were amazing! We did 2 ΒΌ miles out and back, which was not the full trail, but alas, beer awaits!

And now for the stop everyone had been waiting for: Sedona Beer Company. The sun came out during our hike, and it was now warm enough to sit outside. Beautiful day! We shared an order of wings, and everyone got to have a beer before venturing into downtown Sedona for a real meal.

We had an early dinner downtown at the Cowboy Club Grille. Burgers and fries were just the ticket after a long day of sightseeing! After dinner, we returned to Prescott via a different, less-curvy route than before. A great day!
